Like millions of people around the world, we are sure you have been closely watching the news following the events of October 7th, 2023. While these were challenging times and difficult events did take place, we are here to tell you Am Israel Chai - The People of Israel Live! During these past few months the beauty of Israel has shown forth. Not only is the nation blooming, but the people of Israel have come together in a beautiful way.
An expected outcome of the October 7th events is the international support. As nations debate on Israel’s actions, hundreds and even thousands of non-Israelis have come from all over the world to show support for Israel and to stand with the nation. As most Israelis have returned to daily life and calmness and safety has returned to Israel, people from all over the world are coming to show their support. This support has shown itself in physical assistance, emotional support, monetary help, economic stimulation, and so much more.
This show of support holds special importance for many Christians as Zechariah 2:8 says, “For thus says the LORD of hosts, ‘After glory He has sent me against the nations which plunder you, for he who touches you, touches the apple of His eye.’” And even from the book of Genesis we read of the blessing to Abraham, Genesis 12:3, “I will bless those who bless you, but I will curse those who curse you. And through you I will bless all nations.”
What can you do to stand with Israel?
One of the most impactful things you can do is to come to Israel! Israelis love the encouragement and joy that visitors bring as well as the economic boost it brings to the country. While no one can guarantee that a city or region is safe (even in the United States), Israel has returned to a safe normal and its doors are open and welcoming to any and all visitors!
You can support Israel by praying. Psalm 122:6-7, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem ‘May they prosper who love you. May peace be within your walls, and prosperity within your palaces.’”
Another important avenue of support you can make is to share the truth about Israel with those around. The last few months have shown that the international media often twists the facts regarding Israel. You can make a difference by seeking the truth and speaking up for Israel.
